Hot Swamp!!!

coneflower22.jpgAll week the temps have been in the 90s with lots of humidity.  I should mention that due to BGE’s 50% rate increase, I’m afraid to use the a/c! It doesn’t seem to help that much in the daytime anyhow.  So we’re coping the old fashioned ways: lots of iced tea, cold showers and open windows with fans. Help is on the way as it’s supposed to start raining and cool down tonight.

On the Hook: A crocheted edging (in  2 colors- maize & white) for “The Dog” blanket.  Note to self- no more flannel work in tropical weather!!!!

Finished reading: Red Mesa by A & D Thurlo. I think I’ve now read all the Ella Clah books except the 1st, which might be out of print and the very newest, which the local library, per my request, has on order. I’m #1 in line to read it!  Not sure what to read next. Something light for sure. I have another book on request by Anne Bronte and I didn’t even know there was a 3rd Bronte sister.  I found Knit the Classics on blogspot.com and that’s the book for July- I’ll give it a chance if it comes in on time.

Tesla the Dog would like the known Internet world to know that he killed another groundhog. Since I wasn’t home at the time, he brought the furry corpse in to show it off. I put on latex gloves, got a trashbag to remove it and sprayed the carpet with lysol- thanks Tesla! He’ll be blissfully happy for the next week with dreams of canine glory. I’m grateful that their monthly worm pill is due on the 1st- groundhogs are cute at a distance but they are wild burrowing rodents! I wasn’t always this heartless, but living in the country, I see death so often. Now and then I’ll have a good cry. Please hug your pets- they don’t know how good they have it!
