Bonjour Grandmere….

The city lights, the pretty lights
They can warm the coldest nights
All the people going places
Smiling with electric faces
What they find the glow erases
What they’ve lose the glow replaces, and life is love,
In a neon rainbow, a neon rainbow…

I have mixed feelings about granny afghans. I love the finished product, but hate all the cutting, weaving and stitchin’ up. I started this one in 2005, got tired of making squares and just picked it up again to get it finished! I didn’t want to make still more squares, so I pieced the finished ones and I’m going around the whole thing with the granny pattern until I like the length. Yarn is Caron Simply Soft “brites” in a whole bunch of psychedelic colors. I got the inspiration from a website called “Groovy Crochet” . It has all kinds of familiar designs. People used to flatten beer and soda cans and crochet around them to make hats! I wouldn’t mind having a couple of pink poodle toilet paper holders though….
