I want more!
Can’t believe this was the last Harry Potter book. To be fair, we the readers weren’t the ones under the microscope- coping with deadlines, criticism and all the rumors -JK Rowling had that job. Well, perhaps she’ll take the kids and go on an extended holiday. But she’s a writer and the bug will probably hit her again. I’m sure it would be a drag to have everything she does after this to be compared to the Potter series. Maybe she could write under a pen name?
I found a fun series by Kim Harrison about the world of Rachel Morgan, witch about town. It’s adult reading; certainly darker than Harry Potter. Much of humanity died off in a plague started by a genetically engineered tomato. There are still people, but in numbers so reduced, that the different ones- witches, vamps, weres, etc no longer have to hide. Not enough humans around to persecute them. Interesting too that the survivors live in a world of white pizza- no regular human eats tomatoes! Rachel is a private detective working among the enchanted people: bounty hunting werewolves- yeah, stuff like that.
Just read my yahoo news that Lindsay Lohan got arrested again! Just out of 2nd time in rehab. So how many cries for help does the kid need? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a film she’s been in, but she’s been all over the tabloids for a couple years now. At this point, I’ll blame the parents. Not like they ever said, “when you’re eighteen, you’ll have all kinds of money saved and you can go to college and study whatever you want…” Sounds like they were having too much fun spending the money along with her.
BTW, I hope it’s going well for the young Harry Potter actors. Daniel Radcliffe just turned 18 so he can get into his money. He says it won’t turn his head; that a new DVD is his idea of spending money. Hope so. Go to university, buy a nice house, invest in stuff.
