I’m really getting into “bug watching”. It’s  like bird watching without the feathers! The same flower beds all summer, but every few weeks a new “star” appears. Kind of like people coming and going at their beach rental.

Anyhow, today the flowers are full of bumblebees! More than I’ve ever noticed before and at least two different species. Based on reading, these must be the youngsters the Queen raised this year. They leave their mother’s colony and the young queens will mate and find a nice nest for the Winter. And they really like that Russian Sage. I’m going to put more out by the perenials next year, because we definitely need more bees.
