Dorie’s Different Reality

 Need a place to hide? Worried about the bills? Need  to sleep off the cookie carbohydrates?
 We’re now open and accepting all who are weary and burdened by this holiday that seemed to arrive in the middle of September, and continues til the January clearance sales are over. Drop by- Tuesday’s menu will be Hungarian Goulash and we’ll be watching some non-heartwarming comedy videos.

I haven’t been able to write in the blog for 2 days. I can’t come up with my “festive christmas blog entry” I’m missing some people. Also feeling bad over stuff other people have to deal with. Sick and tired of all the news articles about Retail Sales Figures. Can’t always get festive just because there’s a red number on the calendar!

I’m this close to posting a video of Oscar the Grouch singing “I Hate Christmas”  I don’t really hate Christmas though. I’ve had many nice ones. Still, I’m pretty bummed. Not the Queen’s “annus horribilus”, more like “annus lame-O”

Halloween and Thanksgiving are well-behaved holidays- that  come and “poof” in one day! Like Mike says, Christmas builds up, and with a joyful heart you start to feel like Winter won’t be so bad this year.  Oh heck no- there’s 3/4 months of snow, ice, mud and electric bills to come!

Memo for next year: save money and go to Vegas!
