Aloha Kakou!
Dear Readers, is it okay if I blog about politicians, but not politics? I’m not going to tell you how to vote. But it’s an election year ,and all the comings and goings are really interesting!
Hillary Clinton needs a hobby: I’m just sayin’. I surfed through ten pages of Google images and can’t find a single picture of her having fun. Just a lot of her wearing a suit (and suit, heels, and hose is very uncomfortable imo) standing around talking , or giving speeches, etc. There’s that one of her and Bill “dancing” on the beach- but she didn’t look like she was having fun. Does she knit (grin!) or bowl (sport of warriors!) or watch football? She already said she doesn’t stay home and bake cookies. We know Bill loves Rock N’ Roll, but where’s that picture of Hillary relaxing at Chappaqua with Bruce?
I suppose politics is her life. More than anything she reminds me of the law professor she used to be. One thing about President Bill- he always has fun.
There aren’t a bunch of pictures of McCain or Giuliani out having fun (there is one of Giuliani in drag for some event-silly more than fun) The Edwards family must have a place at the beach because there’s lots of pictures of him in the surf with his little kids. The Romneys look like they have a grand time; a little reminiscent of the Kennedys. Mike Huckabee hunts with a gorgeous black lab. (#1 dog in America) I found a picture of Barack Obama in the surf in Hawaii- does it get any better?
My suggestion to the Senator is that she should take up sailing. They go to Martha’s Vineyard a lot. There would be lots of nice photo ops of her at the wheel, or taking the tiller, etc. She could wear neato chino shorts and little shirts, deck shoes. It’s a dignified hobby. I think Winston Churchill liked to sail.
We like seeing what Presidents do in their “down” time: Ronald Reagan loved his ranch. Gerald Ford loved to golf. Nixon loved to bowl AND swim.
Dressing up and sitting in meetings doesn’t sound fun at all.
