Click on the picture! These kids have never lain down and taken a nap together before. Tesla looks funny- he heard the camera and his eyes opened. Vera never woke up.
Tesla is really tired. He had a bad day. It was annual checkup and shot day. He’s a lousy patient, so I got some “ace” tranquilizer and loaded him up for the trip to the doctor. For about 2 hours, he was calm as befits an almost 7 yr old mixed Lab- normally he’s agitated and barky all the time. He started whining in the Vet’s waiting room, trying hard to hide behind the chairs in there. There’s a big orange label on his chart “MUZZLE” He hates it, but so necessary. He had to have blood work today and nobody is needle sticking an unmuzzled 75 pound dog! I think he’s all done for another year but he’s got lyme disease. Somewhere I read that 2/3 of all dogs will test positive for lyme, but this Vet says there ain’t no doubt. She thinks that maybe if he gets feeling better he won’t be so snappy and barky. I hope so. Tes gets six weeks’ of antibiotics! The bad news is that the drug of choice is hard on their stomachs, they have to take it with food. I guess I’ll have to come up with things to fill up his stomach before I slip him the mickey! Today it was Chinese food on kibble with a doxycycline pill slipped into a piece of pork. Oh yum.
