Ladies and Gentlemen, in the Center Ring….
The home improvement project has reached the Circus stage! Mike is off work for the rest of the week. Large numbers of cabinet surfaces have been painted blue. There’s short piles of kitchen cabinet occupants stacked all over the house. Tesla the dog backed his butt into the paint. And we’re all at the stage where we want it to be over, but there’s more work to be done if we want to do a good job (and not have to do this again four years from now) !
Here’s a couple of pictures of the fast furious action. This is Tesla’s tail modeling the Brushed Denim Blue.
I got out the flea comb to try to remove some of it, but it’s a bit ouchy getting all that hair pulled out. He’ll be shedding black and blue for a few weeks.
And over here is Michael painting the insides of the drawers with his ear!
Seriously, we’re trying hard to do a good job and it’s going to be nice when finished. Meanwhile, here I sit wearing my bathrobe! I need to hustle and get dressed. I’m in charge of laying some easy release tape at the top of the cabinets, as they will be painted a slightly darker shade of blue. Mike is deathly afraid of heights- good thing he was in the Navy and not the Air Force. Duchess is busy relining the cabinets with high quality vinyl. Also, she’s signing me up for a home management program that will e-mail me with my daily chores. I’m easily sidetracked; I can do the basics like make beds, laundry, dishes, etc But not so good at incidental, but necessary tasks, like dusting tops of door jambs, etc. Maybe a daily e-mail with 2 or 3 special tasks will be just what I need.
Hey, I haven’t blogged about the Primary: I just wanted to share Mike’s idea of the unstoppable duo: a McCain/Obama ticket. As preposterous it sounds, in the early days of the US, the Vice President was the losing candidate. Chances are, party labels aside, those two could work together. (probably scream at each other a lot too) Think about it- a young dynamic up and comer teamed with the experienced Veteran. It wouldn’t happen, but it sure would be nice if people could cast away party affiliations and get some work done.
speaking of which….have a great day!

We are contemplating a kitchen remodeling project here too. Ours is going to be a complete tear out. Your post reminds me of the aggravation we will no doubt be facing.
I like the idea of the VP being the losing candidate from the other party. I would like to think that that would keep America on a more even keel.

I’d feel a lot better about a McCain/Obama ticket than a McCain/Huckabee ticket. McCain scares me, but Huckabee *really* scares me. McCain is pretty darn old, so there’s a pretty good chance that his vice president could become president. Huckabee actually became governor of Arkansas because he was Lt. Governor and the Governor at the time was indicted for something or other.
