Dorie’s Different Reality

Four years ago, the USA Today online edition was running a daily Haiku contest and my little haiku, “Pink” was the winner for Feb. 26, 2004. Yippee!I was entered to win the weekly prize, of a book, but I didn’t. Anyhow, this is “Pink”:
girly whirly dots
cotton candy poodle skirt
pink like puppy tongues

When she goes, she’s gone.
If she stays, she stays here.
The girl does what she wants to do.
She knows what she wants to do.
And I know I’m fakin’ it,
I’m not really makin’ it.
