Heard on the sound system at Wal-Mart….

Know that something very strange
Is happening to my brain.
I’m either feeling very good
Or else I am insane.
The seeds of doubt you planted
Have started to grow wild
But feel that I must yield before
The wisdom of a child

And its love you bring,
No that I can’t deny,
With your wings,
I can learn to fly,
Sweet young thing.

-Sweet Young Thing, Gerry Goffin, Carole King, Mike Nesmith, from”The Monkees” album, 1966

Not sure what ultimate marketing strategy is reflected, but it sure is cool to walk around a store listening to songs I loved when I was 13!

Beware of Impostors! Out there in the cutiechicks.jpgEaster Candy department, there are some really cute marshmallow critters that aren’t Peeps! And they’re made in China. Don’t let your babies eat Chinese food coloring!

Brett Favre retires! With honor- he’ll be in the Hall of Fame on the first vote. Starting Quarterback for Green Bay in over 270 games!

Election 2008 Golly, November is a long ways away. Senator McCain secured the GOP nomination last night. As for the Democrats, it’s going to go all the way to the convention (Kansas City?) for sure. I’ll be interested in who McCain will choose as a running mate. He’s going to have to go for a younger go-getter type. Will be interesting to watch.

Okay, here’s my top three issues this year:
#1 The Economy- not just the Recession over the next couple of years, but the future of this country for the young people
#2 Immigration- the system is broke, fix it
#3 Health Care- the cost of everything is way out of control. It is a profit driven industry, instead of a service industry.

Oh, I made this yesterday for the heck of it. Do you like my hat?

You clearly have the most well-reasoned platform of all the candidates. You have my vote in 2008.

Nice hat Dorie and I like the new look. It looks like spring, which seems like a long way off in my part of the country.

I agree with your 3 top issues, but I would also like to add a 4th one. We need to come up with a viable energy policy that is designed to reduce or eliminate our dependence on middle east oil.

President Kennedy challenged us to put a man on the moon within 10 years and we did. There’s no reason that within the same time period we couldn’t seriously reduce our dependence on oil.

Love the hat! I’ll vote for you!
