love exciting and new….
heehee, got your attention didn’t it?
The Love Boat, Season 1 has just been released onto DVD. Don’t tell the DVD industry this but there are lots of things I’d like to watch, but not necessarily own. Love Boat falls into that category, so I put it into the Netflix queue. Disc 1 said “very long wait” but all the other discs were available, so I moved #2 to the head of the line and it’s here. We watched part of it last night.
Very fun! Odd that I found the acting to be very stiff, even Gavin McLeod, who had played Murray on the Mary Tyler Moore show. It wasn’t like he was an inexperienced actor. Maybe the director in those days? Love Boat ran for eight seasons and became sort of the “who’s who” of has-beens and rising stars. Last nights guests included Jim Nabors, Michelle Lee, Tab Hunter (!) and Ruth Gordon among others.
People were thinner (not so much corn syrup in the diet as now), lots of politically incorrect implied casual sex, and nobody wore a bra!(that phenom is known as jiggle television)Women wore long, not revealing clothes flesh wise- but nipples everywhere! Things were “free-er” back then!
