“I know I’ll often stop and think about them”

It’s Beatles week around here. Wednesday night I finally got to see Across The Universe. I knew I would love it. They grabbed me with the first scene: Jude sitting alone on the beach singing, “is there anybody going to listen to my story?” Mike watched it with me and while he isn’t much of a rock fan,(he’s one for classical and pre-rock pop-think Perry Como) he didn’t hate it; that’s something. It was full of beautiful young people singing, what’s to hate? It’s a nice retrospective- good for the youth of today who don’t quite understand the Beatles phenomenon.

Going to bed with the radio on the other night, I heard a bit of bumper music right before the news: an electric piano solo in a baroque style. That little bit of music has been driving me bonkers for the last three days! With age comes memory lapses and I hate it! Somewhere along the way, maybe in an education class, I learned that our brains are like the National Archives: everything we see and hear is stored there, and it’s just a question of “accessing” Well, it took three days to access the memory! The music was “In My Life” from the album Rubber Soul. 1965.

Found a nice tribute video set to this song over on YouTube. Nice retrospective video clips included. Makes me smile.
