Then Goldilocks said, “that was too bright”

“but this is too pale” As I warned you, I’m trying out different themes. Something with a bit of color; a warm color, like peach-that’s what I need! Or with lovely fantasy art, like these fishies by Royce McClure: http://www.haiks-inc.com/product_images/HI-ROYCE-C6280-BRITE.JPG
This haze gray is just a try on. Also, the font is a bit dim- a lot of themes are like that. One blog theme, I typed the whole blog entry in bold. The absolute worst is a black theme with something awful like yellow type. Why publish a journal online and then make it unreadable?

Another blogger observed that this year it’s like April and May got mixed up! It’s 46 degrees and light rain this morning. Makes the cabbage grow- also the weeds! I’ll be out chopping away in a few days.
Invasive Species: Our whole yard is being overrun with this stuff- http://www.weedalert.com/weed_pages/wa_ground_ivy.htm
(who knew there was a Weedalert! page?) That it is a perennial is what makes it nasty. It’s had the whole winter to grow! It’s creeping over the bed where the California poppies are coming up. If I went in there pulling the runners out, I’ll exterminate this years’ poppies! Yuck, more dirt work but I think what I’m going to have to do is extend the flower bed, and transplant the flowers before they’re choked to death! Like move each plant and surround it with a bunch of mulch. I think I’m going to try a bit of chemical warfare, use some weedkiller. I don’t like doing it, but it’s an invasion.

Do you watch House? Last night was the season finale. It was heavy. In between the medical mysteries, it’s a bit of a soap opera- so it will be interesting to see what Dr. House does next season. Mike made the observation that House is Sherlock Holmes. He’s right. House is anti-social, drug addicted and brilliant; his friend is named Wilson (not Watson). People put up with his narcissistic games because he gets the job done. They also did a show where he’s described as having Asberger’s syndrome, which explains some of his compulsive antics.

Happy Birthday to Joe Cocker and Cher and all the other people! I found a site www.kakorama.com and you can put in a date and it tells you what was going on for that date. I like to send things like that to people on their birthday.
So let’s see today in 1970 #1 song in the US was “American Woman” by the Guess Who. This day in 1990, a dozen eggs cost $1. And in 1998, Jerry Springer was on the cover of the Rolling Stone!
