Defending Hillary’s Pantsuits
Fashion Club Meeting is Called to Order!: I never thought I’d defend Hillary about anything, but she’s taking a lot of heat from television comedians and columnists about her pantsuits. So, what do they want her to wear? I can’t see her campaigning in a chiffon dress with matching beads! Nobody is on McCain and Obama about their (pretty boring) suits.
I’m sure, along with everything else, clothes for the campaign were discussed. She must have had them made by a designer. The cut is business, but in brighter colors. My experience with retailers is the women’s suits off the rack are pretty boring (menswear style) colors. Or could she be recycling the jackets from all those “first lady” skirt suits? Everybody does that- take a jacket and put black pants on the bottom!
Inquiring mind wants to know: Is there a dry cleaning machine aboard Hillary’s plane? This campaign has run so long I’m seeing the same outfits more than once. If you ever worked a job where you wore business “business” as opposed to business casual- those jackets aren’t exactly fresh at the end of the day. Does she land in a town and go campaign, meanwhile an aide is tipping extra at the One-Hour Drycleaner to get the jackets done? I doubt it- there must be some accomodation.
I wish hats would come back: It would help me make up my mind about who to vote for if I could see them in hats! McCain of course would look natural in a “Aviator” ball cap (though it would look funny with a blue business suit) Obama, normally, I’d say go for a straw fedora since he’s lived in Hawaii, but maybe an Indiana Jones or an outback hat? As for cowboy hats, Mr. Reagan made that thing look good! Senator Hillary- I hope you burned this: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/data?pid=avimage&iid=iiStfy5OjI94
Actually it’s not a bad hat, but should have been pushed back off her face!
Which begs the question, if elected, what would she wear for the ceremony? She could always get this back from the Smithsonian and add a tiara!
Time to dance!
