Saturday Randomness

First in honor of Tim Russert’s untimely passing yesterday, a link to brush you up on the warning signals for a heart attack and what to do: HeartAttack
I heard a disturbing statistic that nearly half the time a person’s first heart attack is their LAST heart attack- as in, See Ya Around The Galaxy!
I liked Tim. He made politics a whole lot more interesting than Mr. Morgan ever did in 12th grade civics. He didn’t look sick last time I saw him on TV. Frazzled after the primary season perhaps.

I’ve been reading: The Winthrop Woman by Anya Seton. I read a few of her books back in the 70’s. Pretty sure I read this one before. It caught my eye because it was a brand new edition with a foreward by Philippa Gregory. It’s about a real person; a female relative of John Winthrop who left England and went to New England, her lives and loves. Not bad. Huge book -more than 500 pages paperback. It took me more than a week and I’m a fast reader. Now I’m off in Scotland with another Hamish Macbeth book. I always like a murder when the victim sort of has it coming and this one is like that!

Knitting Something small that won’t make my lap hot! It’s called “cabled baglet” from the book I got for my b’day. It should be done in a few days and then I’ll have a picture for you.

Can anyone recommend a good movie ? Or is a really good one coming out soon? We haven’t been “to the theatre” since Harry Potter last summer. We have eclectic tastes, but we’ll read the movie listings and so much just isn’t worth the $$ to see at the movieplex. Put it this way- Indiana Jones got mixed reviews and I decided I can wait for the DVD. I like a “good” comedy, or something epic. Do you recall how the critics absolutely FLAMED Phantom of the Opera? We saw that three times- it had music and beautiful people and interesting costumes. Maybe Kate Winslet has something new coming out? We have this ongoing KW film festival and try to see every film she’s in. Wasn’t she a voice in Ratatouille? We haven’t seen that!
