Songwriter Ellie Greenwich has passed on- a heart attack at age 68. She and her former husband, Jeff Barry, wrote an amazing number of hit records in the early 60’s: http://www.elliegreenwich.com/musicography.htm

It’s Friday, let’s dance! This is Tony Orlando and he must have been about 17! It was written by Barry Mann (”who put the bomp in the bomp, etc”) and Cynthia Weil who had all kinds of hits in the early 60’s. They don’t write ‘em like this any more!
